Browns' Gordon back after health absence

CLEVELAND (AP) Josh Gordon kept his word and "humbly" returned to the Cleveland Browns. All they can do is hope he stays clean.

The former Pro Bowl receiver Saturday ended an extended absence from training camp to deal with his health. He has missed most of the past four seasons because of numerous violations of the NFL's substance-abuse policy.

He posted a statement on Twitter addressed to "Cleveland Browns and NFL family," saying he was ready to be with his teammates.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Minnesota and Jacksonville had the top two defenses in the NFL last season, a major reason why the Vikings and Jaguars reached their respective conference championship games.

Colts, Ravens scuffle in joint practice

WESTFIELD, Ind. (AP) The Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens traded punches Saturday.

First-year Colts coach Frank Reich jabbed back quickly after fists flew, a helmet was tossed and the two sidelines emptied onto the field, first to help defend teammates and then to restore order.

Rams spoil Raiders' return to Coliseum

LOS ANGELES (AP) The Raiders were back. The Rams were better.

Rookie John Kelly rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown, and the Los Angeles Rams welcomed the Raiders back to the Coliseum with a 19-15 preseason victory over Oakland on Saturday.

Former Lions LB Naumoff dies at 73

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (AP) Paul Naumoff, the former Pro Bowl linebacker who spent 12 seasons with the Detroit Lions, has died. He was 73.

Larry Click, funeral director at Click Funeral Home, said Saturday that Naumoff died Friday at his home in Lenoir City.

CLEVELAND (AP) Buffalo's quarterback situation is more scrambled than ever.

AJ McCarron sustained a potentially serious shoulder injury, throwing the Bills' three-way quarterback race into chaos, during a 19-17 win over the Cleveland Browns on Friday night.

Browns, WR Bryant still talking contract

CLEVELAND (AP) Dez Bryant and the Browns are in a holding pattern.

The free agent wide receiver concluded his visit with Cleveland on Friday without agreeing to a contract, but "conversations continue" between the sides, a person familiar with negotiations told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the talks.

Seahawks cut DE Smith, sign LB Walden

RENTON, Wash. (AP) The Seahawks added veteran linebacker Erik Walden on Friday and terminated the contract of defensive end Marcus Smith.

Smith spent 2017 with Seattle and re-signed with the team this offseason on a one-year deal. However, the former Philadelphia Eagles first-round pick had missed the last few days of practice due to a personal matter and the Seahawks released him so he could tend to those issues.

Cards QBs Bradford, Rosen solid in win

NEW ORLEANS (AP) Free-agent acquisition Sam Bradford and 10th overall draft choice Josh Rosen combined to provide a promising outlook for the Arizona Cardinals' quarterback situation.

After Bradford completed all six of his passes for 61 yards, Rosen went 10 of 16 for 107 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown to rookie Christian Kirk in a 20-15 preseason victory over New Orleans on Friday night.
